Tonight’s guest wishes to remain anonymous, so I’m going to call her “Nicki” on tonight’s show. Nicki lives near the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. That’s by design, not by chance. You see, she’s always loved spending time in the outdoors. In fact, for the longest time, one of her favorite things to do was take her massive Husky/Lab mix, Steel, to a nearby reservoir, close to a place called “Lycan Loop,” where the two of them would go on nice, long hikes together. Nicki and Steel loved hiking there so much that she had taken him to the reservoir well over 100 times. Then, one day, in spring of 2019, everything changed.
