"No Evidence" An Amazon Tribe Debunked My Proof of Jesus | Daniel Everett

About this episode

Daniel Everett was trying to tell the Pirahã about Jesus when their questions exposed gaps in his own beliefs. They wanted to know what Jesus looked like and whether Everett had seen him or knew anyone who had. Everett recalls realizing that he could not supply the evidence their questions demanded. His scientific training had already challenged his faith, and these conversations deepened that struggle. He explains how the Pirahã’s reliance on direct experience changed his thinking about the message he had come to teach. 00:00 The Tribe’s Questions About Jesus 09:46 Death, Doubt and Telling His Family 22:00 Life and Identity Among the Pirahã 32:36 How Culture Shapes the Unconscious 41:57…
