About this episode

On July 4, 1954, a pregnant woman was bludgeoned to death in her Ohio home, and suspicion immediately fell on her husband, a young surgeon who claimed a "bushy-haired" intruder was responsible. The case became a media sensation and later inspired the film The Fugitive. Decades on, the question remains: did Dr. Sam Sheppard get away with murder, or did the system nearly destroy an innocent man?
